PARKINSON’S EXERCISE CLASSES AT 50 NORTH

50 North- Findlay, Ohio
These classes are designed specifically for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease (PD), focusing on:

  • Fall prevention

  • Balance and posture

  • Strength and walking ability

  • Cognitive and cardiovascular health

Steady & Strong
With three class options, there’s something for everyone - from those with limited or unsteady mobility to more active, cardio-based movement like drumming. Classes are tailored to different ability levels, with options available with or without the drumming component.

Class A - Steady Boost

Tuesdays & Thursdays | 10:30 - 11:30 AM

For individuals with limited or unsteady mobility.

  • Seated and supported options available

  • Gentle cardio and strength movement

  • Focus on balance and daily movement skills

Class B - Strong & Dynamic

Tuesdays & Thursdays | 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM

For individuals ready for moderate activity.

  • Standing and functional movements

  • Builds strength, balance, and endurance

  • Participants should be able to safely get up from the floor with minimal assistance

Parkinson’s Proud (Cardio Drumming)

Fridays | 9:45 - 10:15 AM

A fun, rhythm-based cardio class using drumsticks and movement.

  • Boosts heart rate and energy

  • Supports coordination and mood

This class may only run through April

SMARTfit
SMARTfit is a one-on-one program led by trained staff at scheduled times. It combines interactive movement with cognitive training to support:

  • Independence

  • Recovery

  • Overall wellness

Each session is safe, personalized, and engaging. Flexible pricing options are available.

ROCK STEADY BOXING

Findlay YMCA - East Branch
Mondays & Wednesdays, 1PM

Rock Steady Boxing gives people with Parkinson’s disease hope. The program enables people with the disease to fight their illness by providing non-contact boxing-style fitness classes that improve their quality of life. Rock Stead Boxing is an effective physical exercise program to dramatically improve mobility, balance, strength, and flexibility. An assessment is required prior to registration. Class meets twice a week.

PARKINSON VOICE PROJECT

Speech Therapy for People with Parkinson’s
Provided virtually at own leisure or through live programs M-F @ 10 AM

The Parkinson Voice Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with Parkinson’s regain and maintain their voices through specialized speech therapy. Their signature program, SPEAK OUT!®, combines speech, cognitive, and vocal exercises to strengthen communication and swallowing. With a mission to preserve the voices of those with Parkinson’s, the project also offers free online therapy resources, training for speech-language pathologists, and research-based support to improve quality of life through the power of voice.

BrainHQ - Brain Puzzles

BrainHQ is an online brain training platform designed to improve cognitive function through science-backed exercises. For individuals with Parkinson’s, BrainHQ can help sharpen memory, attention, and processing speed, areas often affected by the disease.
