Logo of Hancock County Parkinson’s Network with tulip design and text "Plant Tulips, Grow Hope."

The red tulip, a symbol of Parkinson's awareness, represents hope and solidarity in the fight against Parkinson's disease.

These vibrant flowers, with their deep red petals, are a testament to the strength and resilience of those affected by Parkinson's. As they bloom in April, which is Parkinson's Awareness Month, they serve as a beautiful reminder of our collective efforts to raise awareness and support for the Parkinson's community.

HOW TO PLANT

WHEN: Plant your tulips after the first light frost and about 6 weeks before the usual date of the heavy freeze; this is October to mid-December in our area (USDA Zone 6).

HOW: Plant bulbs outdoors so that the soil is 6" above the bulb nose. Space 5" apart (approx. 4-7 per sq ft.)
